Musing :  the silent room.

‘Silent room’

Created on location , Artist in Residence at the Studio of late artist Leon Adriaans, St. Michielgestel – Netherlands.

In the middle of the meadow, stands this small house, 1.5 square meters called ‘silence room’.
It was built by Adriaans himself to stay in at night to find an empty head without thought. It can be seen from the studio where guest artists are working.

This image includes at the top the floor plan of the farmhouse that houses Leo Adriaan’s studio (now a museum).

The 2 yellow windows, an iconic image that often appears in his work.
Next to the farm the little red car of Monique Willems, manager studio. There is the stable for the horses, the work studio for guest artists with green sepia on the roof.
Around it the stary forest, and the Brabant protected landscape.
The “Silent Room” has the central place in all this.
