A complicated undertaking, there was only the idea of making a triptych again.
This combination triptych effigies arose naturally while working, they grew together and as such have no preconceived references.
The butterfly, the peacock, the reading girl appear more often in the embroideries, this final whole is a mysteriously created interplay of beauty
and the title “triptych Eden” came when it was finished.

The corners left and right are frames from 19th century sampler border patterns.

Left panel EDEN :

There is much detail to be seen in the sky with birds and transparent sky birds.
A red ibis flies through a tree. The peacocks and small birds are sampler patterns from the 19th century.

Center panel EDEN :

A purple (symbol of intuition) dreamy sky , the butterfly (symbol of the soul) hangs in a forest of 19th century tree patterns.
There flies another peacock (symbol of new consciousness) with the small bird patterns from the left image.
A snake (symbol of knowledge and wisdom) slithers out of the bamboo, from the right panel.

Right panel EDEN:

A girl sits reading in a boat (symbol of crossing) that has filled itself with water (life).
The boat oars are resting and in her surroundings on the background rise vertical patterns and behind her are flowers on very long stems.

Only after the work was finished, I saw the whole and recognized here the title ‘Eden’.
The transformation from one world into the other, with all this unconscious cultural primal symbolism like: the red sacred ibis, beautiful multi eyed peacock, the white butterfly, the snake and gathering knowledge floating in a boat the water within and the patterns all around…
